Delete your account and data
You can delete your Bantu account from inside the app in under a minute. If you can't open the app, email us instead. Either way, your profile, photos, posts and chats are deleted.
In the app: Account, then Delete account

Open Account
Tap Account, the last tab in the bottom bar.

Tap Delete account
Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen. It is the last button, under Sign out.

Confirm
Tap Delete. Your account is deleted and you are signed out right away.
What is deleted
| Profile | Name, photos, bio, hometown, profession, tribe. Deleted within [N] days. |

| Circle posts | All posts, including ones still live. Deleted within [N] days. |
| Chats | Your messages, photos and videos. Removed from your chats with others within [N] days. |
| Sign-in details | Email, phone number, birth date and your Google or Apple sign-in. Deleted within [N] days. |
| Location | Deleted right away. |
What is kept, and for how long
| Reports and blocks | Kept for up to [N] months so a reported person cannot escape a report by deleting and rejoining. Your name and photos are removed from them. |

| Purchase records | Bantu+ receipts are kept as long as tax law requires. They hold no profile data. |
| Backups | Deleted data can remain in backups for up to [N] days, then it is gone. |
Deleting your account does not cancel a Bantu+ subscription. Cancel it in Google Play, under Subscriptions.
Can't open the app? Email us.
Send an email to support@bantulove.com from the email address on your Bantu account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will delete it within [N] days and reply when it is done. We may ask one question to confirm it is you.
